Nicolai Skridshol

Nicolai Skridshol heads our investigation and compliance department. He is also an experienced specialist in litigation and dispute resolution. He is one of the partners in SANDS' dispute resolution and litigation department. Nicolai has worked extensively with litigation (the Courts of Justice and Arbitration), negotiations, investigations, and compliance throughout his career.

Nicolai assists large companies, organizations, and public institutions in their preventative investigations across various jurisdictions in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Brazil, and he has led several large teams consisting of Norwegian and foreign investigators, digital data forensic experts, lawyers, and other specialists. Nicolai has extensive experience with Norwegian and international anti-corruption work.

In addition, Nicolai assists private and public clients with handling suspicions of objectionable and wrongful circumstances, handling whistleblowing cases, and other situations where there is a need to investigate factual circumstances.

He also assists private and public clients with their risk management/compliance work, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, human rights, and decent working conditions – Transparency Act, Taxonomy, and CSRD.

Nicolai's substantial professional expertise includes work across various sectors, such as oil/gas, renewable energy, fertilizer industry, shipping, offshore, defense industry, insurance, commercial real estate, and mergers and acquisitions. His combination of subjects has provided him with extensive knowledge in areas like corporate law, M&A, board work/responsibility, labor law, and various types of agreements/contracts (purchase, supplier, JV, agent, leasing agreements, etc.). His experience as a litigation lawyer has also helped him as a negotiator and investigator, and vice versa.
