Marit E. Kirkhusmo

Marit E. Kirkhusmo is a specialised lawyer within shipping, offshore and financing and has 20 years of experience within these areas both nationally and internationally.

She assists clients in a broad variety of cases, including sale and purchase of ships, sale leasebacks, vessel construction, financing, restructuring and M&A, as well as general advisory services and dispute resolution. Marit assists different types of clients within these areas, such as shipowners, brokers, financial institutions, insurance companies, managers and agents.

For many years Marit was Chief Legal Counsel of a large international shipping group, the Eitzen–group, both in a period where the group experienced extensive growth and later when the group was subject to restructuring. From the position as Chief Legal Counsel she gained considerable commercial experience as well as practical knowledge from restructurings.

Marit is chairman of det board in SANDS and she was member of the board of directors of GIEK – the Norwegian Export Credit Guarantee Agency.
